This prefecture by far had the best nature vibe of all of the prefectures I visited in Japan. I was overcome by a calm feeling while I drove on these roads. I visited this prefecture with my friend and we were lucky to find spot another tourist wearing a Heian-era pilgrimage kimono. It made the perfect photo op!
One of the highlights was seeing the magnificent Nachi Waterfalls. It is a bit of a trek to get to the destination but it was worth the journey. Make sure to come early in the day to get a parking space (it’s free!) as it will fill up in the afternoon.
